What To Give Your Office Co-Workers this Christmas

What on earth do you give your co-workers? As the year draws to a close, this is something every working person grapples with. You spend so much time in the office every working day and yet it’s tough to decide what to get everyone there on a limited budget. It might be awkward getting your co-workers personal gifts so what does that leave you with except not much of a choice?

The trick is to plan early. Last-minute shopping makes things so much tougher as you finally hurry through and spend a lot more than you intended. The early bird really does get the better gifts and has more time planning what to get. For one thing, you could shop in bulk so you save both time and money. For all you know, you might just end up giving some of them to friends and neighbors too. One suggestion could be a gift basket.

And no, that would not be passé if you made it unique and personalized. Now how could you go about doing that? How about an emergency kit all wrapped up? This is something every one has use for and could include a flashlight, a basic first aid kit and maybe other essentials for traveling. Or, you could have a movie or TV theme and your gift basket could contain a DVD, maybe popcorn and candy and gift vouchers for the closest video rental store.

Or maybe you could have a theme that is relevant to your company. A bit of jazzing up and an idea that’s different and suddenly your gift basket becomes unique. That is what you need to strive for so people remember it was your gift basket that was different.

Another way to make gifts unique is to personalize them. All you need to do is take a trip to the mall and get it done at the engraving kiosk there. The choice of course, is tremendous. You can choose from plaques, baseballs, paper weights, photo frames, clocks, mouse pads, pen holders, just about anything. Here too, you could buy in bulk and go and get them engraved armed with a sheet of paper on which all the names are printed out. If you don’t like the idea of names, it could be a joke, a quote or a message from you.

Even better is taking a look at monthly gift clubs. Just order from their catalogs. The gift could be bulbs for a garden lover, delivered every month, chocolate, wine, desserts or other gourmet foods. If you’re thinking of a gardening person who is special, maybe you could have blooms delivered every month. The great thing is, it’s a round-the-year kind of gift-giving and the person gets it month after month for that whole year. So you get remembered all through the year and it really does make a great impression.

There are so many things you can get but do remember to begin the process of thinking of what to get and going out and getting it very early so you’re perfectly organized as far as co-workers go, well before the shopping frenzy begins.
